Winter Sonata

In this piece, I strive for color, texture, and a sense of distance by building layers of oil and cold wax. Hidden underneath is a layer of strong dark forest green followed by SIX different reds followed by purples, oranges, and white. I used my hands, scrapers, squeegees and my grandmother's (!) stylus tool for mark making. My goal was to FEEL a winter sonata, thanks to Vivaldi. See more of my art available exclusively through
